Postdoctoral Fellow

We are seeking to hire a post-doctoral fellow with a strong background in neurosciences or developmental psychopathology or related fields. The ideal candidate would have a strong experience conducting higher level statistical analyses, including Mixed-Effects Regression Models. The successful candidate will work as part of a research group whose aim is to understand the effects of prenatal maternal stress on pregnancy outcomes and child development. The successful candidate will prepare presentations and conferences and publications from data collected from two disaster-related cohorts. Project Ice Storm has a data base from approximately 120 families spanning 11 years. The Iowa Flood Study is a longitudinal study of 300 families begun in the summer of 2008. Bilingualism (English and French) while not necessary, will be an advantage. Compensation is based on the Canadian Institutes of Health Research guidelines. Statistician

We are seeking to hire a full-time statistician holding at least a Master’s Degree with a background in health research. The candidate will work on data sets from two Canadian Institute of Health Research projects exploring the effects of prenatal maternal stress on pregnancy outcomes and child development. Project Ice Storm has data from 120 families spanning 11 years. The Iowa Flood Study is a longitudinal study of 300 families begun in the summer of 2008. The successful candidate will assist the principal investigators in planning and executing higher order statistical models preferably using SPSS and in preparing presentations and scientific manuscripts. Experience using Mixed-Effects Regression Models is a bonus. A working knowledge of French is beneficial but not essential. Compensation will be based on education and experience and will be in line with recommendations established by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN BIOBEHAVIORAL INFANT STUDIES

The Child Development Unit of the Division of Developmental Medicine at Children's Hospital Boston, Harvard Medical School is seeking qualified applicants for a post-doctoral fellowship focused on infant response to stress. We are seeking highly motivated individuals who are able to work independently and are deeply interested in biobehavioral infant research. Candidates may hold a Ph.D. in psychology, neurosciences, animal behavior, biopsychology or a related field. The primary responsibility will be to assist with an NIH funded study examining the effects of a social stressor on the behavior and psychophysiology of infants. Candidates are expected to have experience with recording and analysis of cardiac measures and EEG/ERP data with preference given to those who have worked with infant or child populations. There is opportunity for additional research of specific interest to the candidate under the supervision of researchers expert in the fields of developmental psychology, psychophysiology and psychopathology.  This is a 2-year position though grant writing for an additional year(s) will be encouraged. Postdoctoral Research in the Brain Function in Children and Adolescents

Full-Time Research Assistant, The Child Development Lab, University of Maryland. We are seeking a full-time Faculty Research Assistant to work in our dynamic research environment studying longitudinal trajectories of temperament and social learning in multiple samples including infants, children, and adolescents. Responsibilities include recruiting participants, scheduling visits, collecting cognitive, behavioral, and psychophysiological data, supervising undergraduate research assistants, and data management. Primary qualifications include a strong research background, attention to detail, good organizational skills, and a willingness to adapt to the changing demands of a dynamic research environment. Bachelor degree required. Experience with infants and young children is desirable.  Candidates will need a flexible schedule, as some evenings and weekends may be required.
