ISIS Awards
ISIS provides three individual awards at their biennial conference in
recognition of distinguished scholarship. Please bring this information
to the attention of all your colleagues and students who are members of
ISIS or who plan to attend the meeting in Baltimore. The award
descriptions and submission requirements are as follows:
A. DISTINGUISHED EARLY CAREER CONTRIBUTION AWARDS
(Deadline: December 1, 2009)
To be eligible, nominees must be current ISIS members who received their
doctorates at least four, but no more than seven, years prior to May
2010. The nominee is expected to have established a significant and
independent record of publications (including in-press articles) that
have advanced the understanding of human infancy. The nominating
materials (self-nominations are not accepted) must be accompanied by a
CV, a letter of nomination documenting the nominee’s research
contributions, and reprints of at least two but no more than four of the
nominee’s most significant publications. Two supporting letters from
other scientists must also be sent under separate cover, before the
nomination deadline of December 1, 2009. The recipient will receive
funds to offset partial costs of travel to the 2010 meeting in Baltimore.

B. DISSERTATION AWARD
(Deadline: December 1, 2009)
To be eligible, a nominee’s degree must have been granted by May, 2010.
Nominations must be made by a regular (non-student) member of ISIS. The
nominating letter must justify the nomination and should be accompanied
by the nominee’s CV and a synopsis of the dissertation, not exceeding 10
double-spaced pages of text (excluding figures, tables, and references).
The recipient will receive funds to offset partial travel costs to the
2010 meeting in Baltimore.

C. OUTSTANDING UNDERGRADUATE SUBMISSION AWARD
(Deadline: January 1, 2010)
A $200 cash prize and a plaque will be awarded for the outstanding
undergraduate submission of a paper or poster to the ISIS conference in
Baltimore. To be considered an undergraduate submission, the primary or
sole author of the paper must have been an undergraduate student at the
time the research project was completed, and must have a faculty
sponsor. (ISIS membership is not required.) The deadline for submission
of posters or papers considered for this award is January 1, 2010.
A copy of the accepted abstract, the name of your faculty
(undergraduate) advisor, and your undergraduate institutional
affiliation should be sent to:
